Library Learning (L2): Library Directory

Search the L2 Directory

L2 serves as our membership directory, providing detailed library and building information. You may search for libraries either on the L2 website, or through the Member Library Search on the RAILS website.

  • L2 Library Search - You may either search by library name or browse by library type. The advanced search form provides additional search options. The search results list includes only the name and address of each library, linking to more details.
  • RAILS Member Search - You may search by a number of fields in the directory. The results list includes library name, delivery codes, city and county, director's name, and (when you are logged into the RAILS website) telephone number and director's email.

Maintain your Library Directory Listing

Library directors, or their designated staff members, are asked to review and update this information as changes occur. At a minimum, libraries need to review and update this information annually. However, libraries should review their building information on an ongoing basis.

Maintain Staff Directory

To take advantage of all RAILS member services, staff need an L2 account. As staff and board members join or leave your library it is important that their affiliate library information reflect their staff status.

Updating your ILLINET Resource Sharing Directory

Quarterly, libraries should review and update their resource sharing policy settings on L2. See the Overview of the ILLINET Resource Sharing Directory online tutorial for an introduction of this service supported through L2. The embedded tutorial below shows how to maintain this information on L2.
