Fiction/AV/Teen Services is looking for a service-oriented individual with a passion for popular culture to join a collaborative team serving readers, listeners, and viewers of all interests. The position averages 16-17 hours per week and will spend the majority of the time on the public desk helping both adults and teens. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor degree or the equivalent education and work experience is desired. Public service experience. Bilingual skills a plus.
SALARY: $16.96 per hour
Other benefits: Our part-time staff are eligible for paid holidays and a paid "birthday" holiday.
SCHEDULE AND DUTIES:
Participation in weekend rotation
Coming in at 1pm on the third Tuesday of the month
Opportunities to pick-up extra shifts, whether covering the desk or helping out with programs
Additional responsibilities will include:
Developing positive relationships with regular teen library users
Helping librarians with programming for teens (and occasionally adults)
Assisting with recurring administrative tasks
Using a detailed eye to provide popular print and audiovisual collection support
Helping patrons with ebooks and other digital media
